Minnesota Rural Health Cooperative (MRHC) exists to improve the quality of
health care, to contain health care costs, and to increase the access of Minnesota
citizens to health care services. The accomplishment of these goals requires a
network of physicians, allied health professionals and hospitals qualified and
competent to provide high quality, cost-effective care. This credentialing policy
establishes criteria and an administrative process by which these professionals and
institutions are evaluated and selected participate in MRHC.
The Board of Directors and the Credentialing committee of MRHC establish
credentialing policies and procedures to assure maximum patient safety, clinical
competence of network providers, and consistency and objectivity in the selection
of network providers.
Credentialing is a process of assessing an individual’s professional qualifications,
Including education, training, certification, experience, licensure, and registration.
The process includes collection, verification, review and assessment of the
individual’s qualifications for the purpose of deciding if he or she is eligible to
participate in MRHC.
